vendor - WinterFetish.com

One reoccurring feature here at the Spiritual BDSM blog will be informational postings detailing our experiences with vendors and makers of products we enjoy, or find useful in some way for our BDSM scenes and sexual role playing games.

Since I just completed a post detailing their catsuit closeout, WinterFetish.com seems to be a logical vendor to originate this series.

Here's how I introduced the Winter Fetish site in that prior post:
When I first discovered the Winter Fetish website a few months back, it was a moment of pure serendipity.  They have a good number of intriguing and unique products, ranging from arm-binders and hoods to sleep-sacks and straightjackets.
And, of course, there are also gorgeous catsuits . . .
That succinctly sums up their product line - catsuits, arm-binders, sleep-sacks, straightjackets, and hoods - oh my!

While the folks at Winter Fetish limit themselves to those 5 categories of products, they do offer their goodies in a nice variety of materials: Darlex, Spandex, Stretch PVC, Stretch Mesh, and LederMeister Leather.

Spandex should be a familiar enough material to anyone reading this blog that no further explanation is necessary.  Like the Spandex, our readers likely will also instinctively understand the qualities inherent in a garment constructed of PVC.

The catsuit that I just ordered for my slave/wife is made from the stretch mesh fabric, so I'll defer description of that particular material until we review that specific product.  The illustration on the top right of this post is that Mesh Bust Cup Back Seam Catsuit as it's depicted at winterfetish.com.  I have to admit, I am very much looking forward to having Serafina model the catsuit for me very soon, so that particular review may not be far off either.

The term "LederMeister Leather" was once used in reference to very high quality leather gear produced by a craftsman named Ron Brandt.  Mr Brandt passed away in 2005, so obviously he's not the actual maker of the gear offered by Winter Fetish.  They do however use Brandt's original patterns and techniques to create the armbinder and Sweet Gwen style hood currently offered at WinterFetish.com, making it as close to Ron's legendary gear as is humanly possible.

That leaves the material Darlex as the final material needing further explanation.  For that description I'll again quote the WinterFetish.com site:
Darlex consists of two layers of spandex bonded together with an ultra thin layer of synthetic rubber. The fabric is cooler and more breathable than leather, neoprene, or latex. It has superior elasticity and recovery as compared to spandex, and is far more durable as well. Darlex holds you tight and keeps you that way.
It should be noted that Winter Fetish bills themselves as an "exclusive manufacturer of darlex fetishwear," and for now I'll just say our limited experience with the material is very much in keeping with the fabric's official description.  We have a Darlex hood that will be the subject of a future product review, so I don't want to get overly detailed here.

Finally, before concluding this post, I'd like to include a few brief sentences about the company's history and mission, as quoted from their website:
Winter Fetish has been producing fetish fashion and bondage products since 1998 in the USA. We take pride in each and every product that leaves our production facility and are constantly innovating to create the next generation of exciting toys and fashions that leave people feeling fulfilled and expressed in their sexual lives . . . For twelve years we have stood for one thing, Product Quality. All of our products are made from the finest materials available and are sewn with heavy duty thread on commercial equipment. As a result, our products are durable, washable, and long lasting.
That is great nice advertising copy in the best MadMen tradition, perhaps worthy of Don Draper himself.  The attention to detail even extends to the WinterFetish logo (shown to the right) which is cool fetish art in it's own right.

With that said about their marketing, there's nothing inherently wrong with emphasizing a company's pride in craftsmanship and innovation, as long as it's fact and not just brag or bravado.

So do the folks at WinterFetish.com actually deliver a product worthy of those flowery ideals?

So far the answer is yes.  Our own personal experience with WinterFetish.com is still somewhat limited, but the first two items we purchased have completely lived up to all our expectations.  Ordering, customer service, and delivery via USPS Priority Mail all went perfectly without a hitch.  The quality and craftsmanship of the products was outstanding.

The mesh catsuit I just purchased for Serafina will be the third Winter Fetish item added to our toychest over just a couple of month's span of time.  In a very competitive market for fetish and BDSM toys, not to mention a poor economy, those repeat purchases should speak volumes.
